Artists

No delivery schedule, no shopping list. Show us what you are about — enough pieces to say what you do — and then stay and talk about it.

This is where the community actually gets built and you are better at it than we are. Post the work. Say what you were going for. Argue with somebody about negative space at one in the morning. Rooms fill up around people doing that and stay empty around people who drop a file and leave.

Post your art here and we promote it. That is the whole arrangement and there is no small print under it.

Then the contests. Art contests are a permanent fixture here, not a one–off stunt, and they pay you twice: cash on the table, and the promotion that comes with being in one — which is worth more than the prize and lasts a lot longer. Enter them. Win some. Lose a few loudly, it is good for you.

$500 to get going, $300 when we agree and your first submission lands, $200 at the end. Less cash than the other doors and considerably more noise, and we would rather tell you that here than at the invoice. We are paying for you being here and staying here, not for a hard drive.

How To Get In

  1. Ask for a code. Button below. Two minutes, no interview, nobody rings you.

Asking is not an agreement and it is not a job offer. It starts a review, and that is all it does. Nothing is owed by either of us until there is something signed.
  2. Show us two things that look like your work. Not your best two — your most representative two. Links are fine, and links are better: we would rather look at them where they already live than hold copies of them.

They do not go anywhere. Not posted, not published, not shown to anybody, and nothing of yours appears on this site until your application is accepted and you have agreed the terms in writing. That order never changes.
  3. We read it, and we come back either way. There are two answers and you will get one of them.

Yes, there is a paid slot. You get a brief — one page, plain English, what you deliver and what we pay for it. Say yes, send us the first part, and $300 goes out. The last $200 lands when the run finishes.

Not right now. Sometimes the paid slots are simply full. Your code still works, so post whatever you want and tag it #review for consideration when one opens — and you still get every bit of the promotion. Your name, your handles and your links travel with your work exactly the same as anybody else's. That part was never the paid half.

If it takes us more than a week, chase us. That means something went wrong at our end, not yours.

Twenty founding slots. After that it’s still a good deal — just not this one.
